Description
First minted in small quantities in 1982, the panda has become a very popular bullion coin, mainly because of the attractive design. It is produced in 24 carat gold. The obverse depicts the Temple of Heaven with the legendÕ PeopleÕs Republic of ChinaÕ in chinese characters at the top and with the date at the bottom of the coin.
The reverse panda design is changed every year ( with the exception of 2001 and 2002 which have the same design). The appealing design of the panda has made it very desirable for both investors and collectors.
Face value 100 Yuan (1982-2000) 500 Yuan (2001-15)
