The Austrian 1 ducat of 1915 is an official re-strike by the Austrian Mint. It is struck in very hiigh quality gold Ð 0.986 fineness or 23.6 carat. The 1 ducat was made as a currency issue until 1914 and the 1915 re-strike is still made today. The obverse shows a portrait of Emperor Franz Joseph I and the reverse design is of a crowned Imperial eagle.
