Description
Elizabeth II Mixed dates ranging from 2020-2023.
The reverse of the coin, designed by Philip Nathan, depicts a standing figure of Britannia holding fast against a storm. Britannia is a British icon, who has always symbolised the strength and resolve of the British nation. The image of Britannia has been used on coinage since Roman times and is particularly well known on the pre decimal British bronze pennies and more recently, the fifty pence piece.
The Royal Mint have added security features to make this the most visually secure bullion coin in the World, including the small trident, which when held in a certain way becomes a padlock, the highlighted union flag on Britannia’s shield and the surface animation causing ‘movement’ of the waves. It also bears the legend ‘decus et tutamen’, an ornament and a safeguard.
All Royal Mint UK Gold and Silver Bullion coins are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
